Honestly, nobody has explained the real world advantages of these PCIe 5.0 NVMe's. 4.0 already hit 7000MB+ speeds and produce way less heat in a much smaller package. I think people don't understand the bottlenecks of their PCs.

Pcie 5 is double the speed of 4. Now in real term usage, you'll barely notice the difference.

For basic consumer grade software, there's no tangible difference yet.

Once developers start utilizing DirectStorage more, a faster drive will become a requirement.

The goal is to not have to load up GPU memory with texture bloat while also avoiding the streaming textures most people complain about.

most won't notice a difference using gen 3 either . it's all about pushing the needle forward so that in 5 years, gen 5 is the new minimum. you want it now - well thank you for paying up and making it possible for every else in a few years
