Never bought a single 4k from these Arrow sales. The Arrow prices are 250% inflated before they take the 50% off, which means they are still overpriced even during the sale. I get that there are some titles not available otherwise, so some people still buy them, but they just aren't for me.

They're preparing for the holiday season and will do the exact same thing on many products

Yeah, I get it. I mean, I'd love to get the Robocop 4k, but $25 just doesn't seem like a great deal to me.

Do you realize "normal" price is going to be $35-40?

Terrible deals IMO. I buy plenty of 4K discs and only pay $10-$15, usually $10 each. I guess someone might find a title they haven't found elsewhere, but $25 for a disc isn't slick to me.

this is what is known as a "boutique label" (https://www.cbr.com/best-boutique...ay-brands/ ), in effect meaning that prices rarely drop to what the major studios' releases would.

they do license some titles from the big studios and usually add some additional special features or a new scan, etc. but like kino lorber, shout factory, vinegar syndrome, etc. etc. they are all pretty steady pricing, outside of only very occasional sales like this. also, msrp on major studio releases is also like $40 for a 4k, so, not too far off..prices on those just drop faster and further, and more predictably. i know a universal or wb (sds) 4k is gonna be like $10-12 within a year, so i can wait if i'm not dying for a guaranteed slipcover.

i'm a longtime collector, but i've only relatively recently gotten into these types of releases because they necessitate a bigger budget of disposable income..but also to continue supporting physical media, that means i've got to be a lot more picky about what i choose to actually get 😅

Kinda have to agree with you, funny you bring up that movie.
Watched on a good setup I know fairy well.
The transfer is ok, nowhere near $25 worth though imo.

Especially when you can get very good outcomes with upscaling & Auro, Neutral:X.

I've only bought three 4k movies on release date and only one was over this price. They were all reference transfers!

Unfortunately, with all the turmoil going on now, the new low price is around $15.
For me that just means I will be buying less and or waiting longer, that's IF it gets a good transfer!

The /4kbluray subreddit has people complaining about Arrow all the time. Bad disks and awful customer support. No thanks.

Don't think I've ever paid $25 for a single 4k disc, if ever they were when they first came out.
