Currently using Bitwarden. Is 1Password worth the premium compared to Bitwarden?

Is Bitwarden working for you? Is there something lacking for you in Bitwarden that you might hope to find with 1Password?

Personally, if I was only concerned with my own use, I could get by with Bitwarden and save the money. However, I want my wife to use a password manager on the regular and participate in family password manager item sharing--e.g. logins, accounts, whatever. She did not care for the Bitwarden mobile app interface and iOS integration, and therefore didn't really use it. A few years ago we took the discounted year offer from 1Password, and she prefers their interface across the board and now uses it regularly. So for me, 1Password is worth the premium because i get program compliance.

If you think you may stick with 1Password just accept the fact that you'll be paying full price every year. They never offer promos beyond the discounted first year. They used to offer a $125 for $99 gift card deal, but they killed that a couple years ago. You can ping their support and ask about promos come renewal time, and you may get a one-time slight discount, but don't count on it.

Bitwarden is working for me. But there's some small stuff that annoys me. For example it doesn't detect autofill for some websites. It doesn't feel as polished as a paid product might.

So submit a bug report for the websites you have trouble with.

Bitwarden is $10 a year and does almost everything 1Pass can do. $18 for a year of 1Pass is the correct price for the product, IMO, but not their full price. So I will stick with Bitwarden.
