I have this and there's a bug they have yet to fix. If your second battery is fully discharged and your main battery is near a full charge and your loads are just right it will not charge the spare battery. For me, if I have 700watts of solar input and the inverter is using 300-400 watts, it just keeps topping off the main battery and cycling the relay for hours. So you lose several hours of solar production and you never charge your 2nd BP2600 spare battery. My work around is to reduce loads during that transition but you shouldn't have to babysit it. This is my second unit, the first unit would sometimes not input solar and it stays like that all day. So you don't know your unit is just running off battery unless you check the app constantlyAnother thing to consider is the initial charge on the 2nd battery is at 250 watts for the first 20-45mins when depleted. So even with 1000w of solar coming in, you only get 250watts. With so little time to capture solar (even in California) I feel it would better to start charging the 2nd battery as the first one is above 90%. Not sure if that's possible with the hardware. This system with about 1500w of panels can keep my fridge and lights powered indefinitely if not overcast

Not a bad price for Anker which has top tier customer support. Personally, I think the Pecron F3000lfp with an expansion battery would be the better buy. 6kwh capacity and 3600w inverter for similar price (rather than this unit which has 5kwh and 2400W inverter)

This may be because each unit on its own is under 3kW, but when purchased together as a bundle, they could meet the qualifying threshold..

Does it never charge the second battery even after the first is full? Are you really losing any charge if you are not getting enough to fully charge the main battery And power all your loads? If you have 700w solar and are using 400w you only have 300w to charge. At 100% efficiency that would only give you 1500wh over 5hrs.

When i had the c1000 i had solar issues where sometimes it wouldn't even charge. If you left the house expecting it to be topped off you could be disappointed. Ended up returning it. I had to watch/monitor similar to what you mentioned in your post.
