MB for setting off error alerts - skimmed it and didn't see it :|

Does match the FP deal from earlier this month at Newegg/Amazon though.

I'm just starting to learn about these drives. does anyone know if this has the dram on it? I'm not sure what I'm looking for when I read the specs, but I don't see dram mentioned so I assume not...

Def not even on the higher end of the gen 5 ssds tbh but it would probably be a decent drive to throw in a tb4/usb4 (or other usb/tb) enclosure....

A lot of motherboards only can accomodate one full speed gen 5 NVME + 16 lanes for the gpu at the same time and the rest are gen 4 speeds so i really don't see any other use for it imo ... If i'm gonna blow a bunch of money on a gen 5 NVME drive i might as well get

I mean the 2TB 9100 pro from samsung is 189 at best buy rn... i realize that's quite a bit more money but it has dram and 14700 megabytes per second read speed (and the write speeds aren't far behind)

Just a situation where your'e already spending a lot of money for something so it seems light you're throwing it in the trash if you don't get the good one imo ..

any recommendations on a gen 4 that is good? I'm not sure I need the speed if Gen 5 or dram...

DRAM won't make a noticeable difference to most people. Gen 5 won't either. What I generally suggest looking for is a drive that uses TLC NAND and doesn't use a problematic controller (like certain Innogrit or Realtek models). I think one of the best deals that tends to come around is the 2TB MSI Spatium M482. There are numerous good (though often not as cheap) drives from WD and Samsung.
