Awesome tool for those that don't have one. Its a solid all around drill, albeit with a weird formfactor, but some of its features come in insanely handy once or twice a year even with just regular home owner stuff, and far better than using right angle adapters\etc. For any kind of woodworking, cabinetry, etc, its a whole other animal.
I picked up a second one a month or two ago for my FIL. was under 200 but came with a m12 ratchet as well.

For folks who don't need the batteries. These typically are available via hack (tool-only) at $124 if you're willing to wait.

Good tool. Only complaint is the speed/directional button on top. Hard to see or feel which setting you're on when you're working—especially inside cabinets or at awkward angles. The button also requires two presses to switch direction (unless it's still active). The fixed light also doesn't point in the right location when using shorter impact bits.

I love this tool, but those two exact things make me like the dewalt installation driver more.

Agree. I also like the Bosch. Yet the only reason I'd choose the m12 is the other tools in the ecosystem.

FWIW, this tool is best used with your thumb & forefinger along the axis of the 'barrel', using your middle finger for the trigger.
Holding it like this makes it much easier to access the direction change button, and gives you better control in general since the 'barrel' is where most of the weight is.

Agree. It's really the only way to hold it for proper balance—more so, when using the 1.5ah battery. Nonetheless if given the option of directional switch placement, I prefer conventional/traditional over this implementation due to tactile feel.
