Math on Kroger's gas point program is as follows:

4 fuel points (up from the standard 2 fuel points) get earned for every $1 spent on gift cards, so spending $25 on participating gift cards will net you 100 fuel points.
100 fuel points convert into a 10¢ per gallon discount on your next fillup. The discount maxes out on a 35-gallon fillup.
A maximum of 1,000 fuel points can be used for a $1 per gallon discount when filling up at Kroger; at participating Shell locations, it's a maximum of 100 fuel points for a 10¢ per gallon discount, although certain stores may have more generous policies.

Thus, if you're able to max out your fillup with 35 gallons of gas, you're getting an additional 14% back in gas points on whatever you spend on these gift cards. If you're buying discounted gift cards, keep in mind that gas points are calculated off of what you spend, not how much the gift card is worth.
Also worth stressing is that Kroger has some very good brands (basically everything available except for Amazon) included in the 4X Fuel Points promo, including Apple, AirBNB, Target, eBay, Disney, and the like. Hit the "Details" hyperlink in the beginning of the post for a full list; the strongest brands usually show up near the top.

Check your digital coupons as you may have a YMMV targeted coupon for buying X gift card and getting 100-200 additional fuel points.

You are limited to the $1 off a gallon however some Kroger don't stop you from going a second time in the month if you have over 1k fuel points to spend on gas. Their gas is however 20 cents more than others around.

I have found that some Shell stations with the cash price posted on the sign default to the cash price when using the 10 cent/100 fuel points so you may save 20 cents and are able to use your credit card. YMMV as the station I go to may have not updated their system.

Fuel points is the only time I like having a truck with a 36 gallon tank. I can get all my discount in one shot.

I thought they limit the gallons to 20 or something?

20% addition for the Lowes card + the gas is a really good deal. Too bad its only on a $50 (+$10) gift card or else I would buy more.

Can't speak to 36 gallons but my Jeep has a 25 gallon tank and I've filled up all 25 gallons before on the discount at my Kroger.

Placed an order for an Uber card then got an email about 2 hours later saying my order was declined for security reasons but they couldn't tell me why - lol.😖

35 gallons is the limit. Also, I have used several thousand fuel rewards points on a single fill up. Is this 1,000 point limit a new thing?

So are you saying you have used say 3000 pts to achieve $3 off per gallon on a single fill up? I say that's impossible. It's capped at $1 off per gallon, up to 35 gallons.

This varies by state or market. In my experience, Ohio has the 1000 limit, but Tennessee allows you to stack until the gas is free
