I can't find any direct comparisons, and it's become so confusing lately comparing the new batch of iGPU's.
Neither is great when compared to a non-integrated GPU

Do laptops sometimes vary how much power they allow the chipset to use? So that two laptops might have the same chipset, but the one that is set to use less power will not perform as fast on games? I wonder if there's anything like that going on here that would throw a wrench in the works when comparing the Intel vs AMD OmniBook...

The Intel is much better than the AMD for gaming. The AMD is much better for anything involving multicore performance.
vs the recent bestbuy asus zenbook

Here's how each did in Time Spy:
14" AMD Ryzen AI 5 340 processor w/16GB and Radeon 840M graphics
Score: 1856
16" AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processor w/24GB and Radeon 860M graphics
Score: 2934
14" Intel Core Ultra 7 256V processor w/16GB and Arc 140V graphics
Score: 4034
She liked the larger screen of the 16", but we both thought the laptop was probably too big and heavy for using in class. It was also hard to imagine using it in tablet mode comfortably.
I tried two of her recent favorite games on both AMD's. Hogwarts Legacy was just playable on the Ryzen 7 with graphics set to low, but not really playable on the Ryzen 5. Split Fiction was playable on both, but the Ryzen 7 allowed better frame rates...the Ryzen 5 still struggled more than I liked.
I haven't gotten a chance to try the games on the Intel yet, but I'm confident they will be more playable. I guess I'm behind the times, since I thought that AMD was still the champ for integrated graphics. It's also nice that the Intel uses less power, so HP rates it for a 3+ more hours than the Ryzen 5 version (19.5 hours vs 22.75 hours).
Here's the screenshots of the 14" Intel Core 7 vs Ryzen 5, and then the screenshot of the 16" Ryzen 7.
