As a former Amazon driver, we love these, because it is a deterrent for porch pirates. Amazon dings drivers for missing packages, so anything I can do to prevent theft is a welcome sight.
Is the delivery person going to bother? Unlikely.
Then if they do...how does it get locked after? It seems like a normal lock. So you leave a padlock open on it and have the delivery person lock up after? And then the next delivery person...can't open it.
or there's a combo lock which every delivery person has to have and use.
There doesn't seem to be any one way, delivery only access that these usually have.
This is just a locking chest.
Wouldn't expect them to lock it, but in my experience delivery folks have no qualms with putting your package into something like this. We just have an old cooler outside we put a sign on it that says "place deliveries inside please" and they do it happily. Mainly started using it to keep electronics from getting wet and heat-sensitive things from melting.

I get multiple deliveries per day from Walmart and Amazon, especially Walmart who for some reason can't combine shipments so I have 2 or 3 different drivers pulling up.
I was thinking of getting this for my smoker and use it to store pellets, but does not seem very waterproof reading the Amazon reviews.

Too bad it doesn't have a wifi controlled lock. You could anticipate something getting dropped off and then notify you it's been opened and closed and then lock it or something

Same. Because it rains so much in the summer, we have a storage bin outside where I've written "ALL DELIVERIES" on the lid and most of my packages end up inside it, whether it's Amazon, UPS, FedEx or Walmart.

Eufy used to offer their Smart Drop box that had some neat features like requiring a code (that you include on the mailing label) to open each time. Or no code to open the first time, but the next person to open requires a code. You could also open it remotely with the app, but unfortunately, the lid has to be manually closed. Mine gets used for about 70% of packages that get delivered to me.

This is a really good idea - use a door sensor like for a home alarm and IoT it in.

I've been using a regular deck box. When the driver complies with the delivery instructions (which is about 3/4 the time,) it is a system that works great.
