For some localities this is a bonus. Places are starting to require that e-bikes without pedal assist require license and registration.

Tbh this is the first time I'm considering because Huffy has actually been doing bicycles for over a hundred years. Didn't even know they went into e-bikes. Should something happen, should be fairly easy to get replacement parts vs every AliExpress e-bike being posted from some randomly named Chinese company.

I got one of these about a year ago for just slightly more money. Haven't used it too much but it does seem durable and will get you going pretty quickly. Throttle is a nice perk as well. Overall I'm happy with it for the price. Only downside is getting started from a stop with the single gear.

It's single speed. Also, it looks like no throttle-only mode. Just peddle assist only.

I don't care if it's made in China. Totally depends on the company making the order of it'll be good or not.

Schwinn is too. 100 years in the US, then off to China.

Ever since the other e-bike from huffy, i don't buy things from them because they sent me one with a defective battery and wouldn't help fix the issue

Yeah Huffy is a Chinese company after it was acquired by the Chinese in bankruptcy. It's on the Wikipedia page
