For some localities this is a bonus. Places are starting to require that e-bikes without pedal assist require license and registration.

Tbh this is the first time I'm considering because Huffy has actually been doing bicycles for over a hundred years. Didn't even know they went into e-bikes. Should something happen, should be fairly easy to get replacement parts vs every AliExpress e-bike being posted from some randomly named Chinese company.

Yeah Huffy is a Chinese company after it was acquired by the Chinese in bankruptcy. It's on the Wikipedia page
That's not what it says

Hardtail makes me sad.
Hard tail on an ebike, especially rear hub motor, has a bit of a counter effect. The initial torque for acceleration is absorbed by the rear shock, especially on take off. Probably less of a factor with a lower power bike such as this though.

This bike is a decent deal. I bought the Huffy Montview on a Slickdeal a couple of years ago. It had the same specs, but was a single speed street bike with no suspension also. (Huffy discontinued it). Its battery was 10ah, I don't see the rating on this one. Biggest downside was only being a single speed, like this one. Which is the main reason I sold mine. 350 watt motor is decent for 15- 20 mph riding with small hills. I'm just over 200 lbs and mine moved along pretty good. I was able to purchase an extra battery on clearance from Huffy for my Montview,, which gave me about a 50 mile range.
This bike looks to be the same pedal assist as the Montview- the thumb throttle works anytime your pedaling, which I like once you get used to it. Once you're moving, you can use the throttle without pedaling.

I'd like it if I could charge this via USB-C, even if it were slower, so I wouldn't have to plug it into a wall.

Sometimes I like to bicycle while traveling and charging in the car is the only option.

Available on their Ebay page tooCurious to hear people's opinions. Price seems good. But do I need it?
Ebay is probably the better place to order from, since you can pay $20 for a 3yr warranty from allstate.

I have it and it's sort of fine. Not much juice, so luckily you can take the battery off and recharge it for the way back. Also, handlebar is low wrt my body and slouching is a challenge. But hey, it takes me from point A to point B. With recharge, or extra pedaling if recharging is not an option, it can also take me from point B to point A.

Yes, it is mentioned in ebay's description. I didn't see it in Huffy's web page.

And yet Huffy is also "Country/Region of Manufacture -China"
Aren't they pretty much all made in China? At least at this price range

Here's the back story on this once American made bicycle company -

"HUFFY BICYCLES: REMOVE THE AMERICAN FLAG BEFORE YOU GO
It was the last day of work at the Huffy bicycle plant in Celina, Ohio. The century-old company had terminated all of its eighteen hundred workers from plants in Ohio, Missouri, and Mississippi.
More than nine hundred employees at the Celina, Ohio, plant got their walking papers. Their jobs were going to a factory in China, whose workers are paid thirty-three cents an hour to work twelve to fifteen hours a day, seven days a week. At the plant in Shenzhen they are housed in crowded barracks and fed only two meals a day. These workers have no health benefits. (Like more than 40 million other Americans.) When they get sick they lose their jobs.
The new Huffy plant is located in the very same Chinese city where Wal-Mart held its annual board meeting recently. That is ironic, since it is alleged that it was Wal-Mart who instigated the move by demanding cheaper and cheaper bikes from Huffy, and as the number one bike seller in the country, Wal-Mart had the clout to make that demand stick.
One laid-off employee told me that he had worked for Huffy for ten years. "I was proud of the work we do here," he said. "I was proud to build American-made Huffy bikes." Many employees worked there for a lifetime, just as their parents had before them. These were considered good, stable jobs in the community. This was a good American company producing quality bicycles for more than a century. At one point they were making more than nineteen thousand bicycles a day!
It was an American company with a proud history, and most folks were working for less than $25,000 a year. The pride the employees had in American workmanship was evident in the small American flag decal between the handlebars and the front wheel of every bike.
While all of the workers at Huffy were sent packing, the CEO was paid $871,000 for that year."

If you are a student or teacher, you should be able to snag 15% off via student beans.
I ordered the Panama Jack ebike cruiser from Huffy in 2023 for $350 and have been satisfied with it. It is built pretty cheaply and there's a lot of adjustments you'll need to make for disc brakes, etc. but overall minor stuff. I generally go trail riding and the only complaint I have is how heavy it is to heave into the back of the truck because it is an overbuilt fat tire bike. This was the deal back then. https://slickdeals.net/f/17059294-dead-huffy-panama-jack-26-fat-tire-electric-bicycle-mens-500w-48v-356-67-for-new-accounts?src=SDSearchv3&attrsrc=Thread%3AExpired%3ATrue%7CSearch%3AType%3Anormal%7CSearch%3ASort%3Arelevance%7CSearch%3AHideExpired%3Afalse

I don't know about that... I am 5 and half feet tall and very comfortable in a 26" base bike.

im a BMXer at heart. Pat from our old school crew was tall as hell an he rode BMXs. I find large bikes cumbersome, harder to control (jump specially), and the lower ones dont require you to rack your nuts or rip your hip muscles trying to climb over them (why are those for females only an not males). I know Tour De France requires wind drag minimization so riders lay down with the head in the bars, but dam that seems so dangerous to me to ride around with my teeth in front of a bar thats slamming into me first bump I ignore. An thats hard as hell on the back to not be able to sit while riding. Some reasons I kinda wanna try the lower motor bike looking ones.

You can see right here in SD deals more than half the e-bikes are these low to the ground ones. And this is coming from a nation where their people already ride mopeds an dirt bikes since I remember seeing them in the 80s. USA sadly is about bigger is better, and fake freedom is more free . SO dirtbikes= street illegal and we dont have any experience with them. Most nations do tho. Extremely common in south america as well as asia. The smaller vehicles allow places to be densely populated an traffic still whizz by. In the end tho its about what you like and your body will do. My back isnt fond of the standing scooters, nor leaning over into face level handle bar I bet.
