This was the worst Watch Dogs. Its big selling point was the fact that you can play as any character off the street, but that was also its biggest flaw. There wasn't a central character to care about. Everyone was just a tool for the job. I didn't care one bit about what I was trying to accomplish. It's also an ugly, late PS3/early PS4-looking game, and the gameplay was very bland and stiff. I gave up after somewhere around 15 hours. It wasn't worth investing any more of my time.
Loved this game. Especially the hacking and various capabilities it gave you. The rebellious cyberpunk aspects of this world were an interesting change. Felt like being part of a revolution. The mechanic of switching to different characters was weird at first but then you create a roster of your own recruits, each with different special features. Some have very powerful hacking techniques, others unique weapons. What ended up happening was I discovered my own lead character, with a voice and abilities I liked. There's also many customization options for appearances, if you don't like a character's style. Tracking down and recruiting random people for their abilities became an optional side mission itself.
You can hack a big drone and ride it and just fly anywhere you want. And I really enjoyed the driving around through London. Although escaping police chases was sometimes tricky, you can always ditch your car and hide.
The story was spread out across many different missions and one of the best was a secondary storyline that many people probably didn't get into because it wasn't the main mission.
It can be repetitive but most open world games are. I didn't mind and ended up completing a lot of the secondary activities just because I enjoyed this world and fighting for its freedom.
Played on PS5 and had no problems with how it looked or ran. Some of the locations and art design were impressive.
Basically, at this price it's a good buy if you like open world games. There was a demo and it might be part of the PS+Extra library.
