Same as Godox for those that don't recognize this brand. It's Adorama's label.

Got this flash last time it was under $200. Works well for my off camera setups.

Bought the Flashpoint X R2 in 2019 for $159 and it's still going strong. Worth every penny!

When using manual, can I use a Sony mount on Canon or nikon?

For non-pros, it is better to have tt685ii than this. For pros, ad100pro is more powerful at similar weight and price.

I'm not sure, but I know that there might be some compatibility issues. I originally had these flashes for Nikon and then switched to Sony and had issues with my Nikon flashes working on the Sony mount. I think the Nikon and Canon mounts are similar but where you may have issues is in TTL mode. I think they would be interchangeable in manual though, not 100% sure. the Sony flashes have a different hot shoe design

You can buy a $50 trigger or $80 tt350(or new smaller flash with wireless) for the other mounts.

Do the Godox batters and triggers work with the Flashpoint?

Yes, it's basically just a rebrand. I have a Flashpoint R2 mkii (basically a Godox x2t) trigger and a Godox v1 flash that work together

I have both the 685ii and the godox v1 (same as this flashpoint). I find I use the godox more frequently. It's nitpicky but I prefer the round head especially as off camera flash, and the battery is way faster cycling.

The point here is, does a non-pro need $100 lithium battery to power the same 72w.s output? The 685ii also has a metal mount instead of the plastic one on v1.

The round shape is not great for packing, and your sensor is square which means the light better be square.(when light is far away, shape of light source doesn't matter)

Also, tt350+ad100 is better for your usage probably.

All current models of the godox v1 come with a metal hotshoe

Sensor is square? So you need a square light? What? Should my lens be a square too instead of round? Round light creates a more pleasant vignette when background is in play, and also a nicer eye light if shooting close up. There's a reason parabolic or at least octagonal modifiers are used vs square or rectangular.

The price difference between a v1 and a tt685 is not small but it's not enormous either. There's absolutely a place for the v1 / r2 flash over a tt685 or ad100.

Yes but square glass is extra cost.
nicer eye light
Why do you want flash directly in peoples eyes in the first place? When you add a modifier, you get whatever shape you want?

Has anyone used this as an outdoor flash? I've thinking about getting this or the AD200. Possibly the AD100.
