speaking from experience as someone who bought many kobalt branded tools,

RUN IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!

Kobalt does not sell replacement parts for their the tools that they manufacture. I bought an electric lawn mower from them and the safety switch failed within the first year of me owning it, but since I had bought it at the end of the season, there were no parts available the next season when I started using it and it broke. Lowe's and Kobalt said part unavailable after only a couple months of selling it to me and refused to offer a refund or replacement because I didn't have copies of the original receipt.
Also have a chop saw that small latch/lock broke on. no part available for three years and never will be (600$ for a saw that I used three times)

kobalt is an unethical manufacturer and I would NEVER buy anything from them because it sends the message that it's okay to ignore right to repair principles

Unless you have a postage stamp yard, the 40v Kobalt mower just doesn't have enough juice - constant battery changes will leave you frustrated. We had the 40V and quickly upgraded to the 80V which we've had for 8 years now and highly recommend the 80v tool set with at least 3 batteries so you're always ready to do more work.

I've had a 40V going on 8 years…is durable but not powerful. You'll need more batteries for sure. I collected accessories over the year to have 6-7 batteries to rotate through and have just enough juice to mow .25 acres. Tool lasts but the batteries do not. It's been worth the price though- nice to not have to deal with oil or gas, always push button starts. I have to be selective on when to mow (will die fast if grass is too wet or if temp is too hot). That's a pain.I am looking to switch brands but not sure what solves the battery problem.

Kobalt is greenworks rebranded. They don't make replacement parts for anything and expect you to buy new if anything breaks.
