Good deal. Even beats Micro Center's sale price and includes about $60 in filament. For those not familiar with this model, it can be upgraded to use the Creality CFS multi-color system, provided you're mechanically inclined enough to do the upgrade, and honestly, if you're not, you're going to be frustrated with any 3D printer, as they all have similar issues. I've had several Creality and Bambu machines, and I now run only K1 series machines. The Bambu units were nice when running Bambu-branded filament, as they do a great job of testing filament profiles, but they have some system requirements regarding disabling features I need unless I route my files via their cloud server, and many of my designs are proprietary, and all of them are none of their business.

A few post above yours states it comes with about $60 worth of filament and peace of mind with Costco exceptional return policy.

well it is most likely due to it not being part of the costco "limited warranty" meaning you can return if you simply werent happy even over a year and get your refund, and 3D Printers also have a reputation for breaking down and needing to be repaired, but its actually always been the user not wanting to skip the instruction manual and is surprised that its not working anymore.ive actually been wanting to get into 3d printing for a while, and although there are plenty of cheaper 3d printers out there, this would definitely be worth spending the extra for the peace of mind that if I didnt end up really getting the hobby, I can get my money back and not get stuck with a 200-300 machine thats not getting any use...

You do not need internet. It has a microsd slot. (for the x1 carbon at least)

Also. considering we've also got 3 prusas, Bambus are fast boisssssss Smilie.

Ordered the refurb a few days ago and it arrives today. Let's see what happens. The people on the refurb SD thread don't have a lot of concerns so it's interesting to see some of these comments. The refurb is from creality and has the same 1 year warranty as the new model.

their multi filament thing is on sale too, so seems like a good buy... I don't have personal experience with them, but bambu has been good to me with support and community. not sure I would try to save 1-200 buy getting this over a P1S combo. or getting a prusa.

The only good thing is that this printer is returnable. A refurb for under 250? Get that instead, but even that's a poor deal since it's got a smaller print volume than the centauri carbon and doesn't work as well.

I have never owned a 3D printer. Is there a specific model you suggest? Any suggestions on how to learn to use it? Its one of the few pieces of technology that I dont fully understand. Are these still considered a very niche sort of thing?

I have the Centauri Carbon and it's been rock solid. Been printing five months on it and only 3 failed prints which were my fault (not enough supports, wrong filament type lol). I also have the Creality K2 plus and that's been a friggin nightmare (bolts loosening, blown out pfte tube nipple after 2 months, cfs is nonfunctional). I've owned a couple dozen printers to include the OG Creality Ender 3s (which were great basic printers). Currently printing on (RESIN printers) Elegoo Saturn (still running strong after 4 years), Saturn 3 Ultra, Anycubic M7 Max, Phrozen Mega 8k, (FDM) Elegoo Centauri Carbon, Neptune 4 Max, Orangestorm Giga, and Creality K2 plus. With the N4M and OSG, had a wide known firmware issue where the printer lost positioning information and would drop the printhead into the bed. Firmware update fixed it and Elegoo sent me new printbeds. Creality on the other hand said I was SOL since they only covered the printhead assembly for 3 months, and the weak ptfe nipple was a widely known issue in the forums. I'd still go for the Centauri Carbon in a heartbeat. FYI the original batches of Carbons had REALLY weak LED lights, which were updated in newer batches.

Well, other than the restrictions. But Sam's Club has the exact same. Therefore Costco doesn't have the most consumer friendly of any retailer because Sam's Club at least meets the same.
