I think the only drawback is that the water resistance is not as good on the new ones, because of the speakers and because they use USB charging instead of proprietary magnetic connector. But these address complaints about the sound and convenience, so presumably it's a trade-off most people would take.

So I've owned the OpenRun, OpenRun Pro and OpenRun Pro 2's. IMO the Pro 2's are 3x as good as the OpenRun and 2x as good as the Pro as the Pro 2's are now just speakers pointed into your ears and not just bone conduction like all previous models. They still have a bone conduction mode, but I personally recommend going with the Pro 2's generally.

Just my two cents. I prefer these (OpenRun) over the OpenRun Pro. The bone conduction on the latter isn't as strong as the former, but the latter has speakers pointed at your ears.
The net result is that the OpenRun Pro is harder to hear (for me, YMMV). At the start line of the Boston Marathon, for example, they were so quiet I couldn't even hear them turning on (thought the battery was dead). Sure, it was noisy, but I've never had that same problem with the OpenRun. I keep the OpenRun Pro as a backup, but the OpenRun is what I go to for my daily runs. FWIW.

with the thin frame on this, can they be worn comfortably with glasses on? I've been waiting for these to drop in price at Costco.

Looking for advice.. Why this Vs. The $20 random branded options I see on Amazon?

I'm also curious, I've had the $20 to $30 ones on Amazon before. Are these really that much better to justify the cost?

Not the direct comparison, but I have those $29 ones from Anker, $299 from Bose, and $230 ones from Oladance. It's very obvious that the Oladance has way better sound quality and Bose has the best bass (which is really hard to achieve with open ear headphones). But are they 10 times better? No, not even close. It's like most things in life, it starts to have diminished returns as the price goes up.

I wear glasses and have always worn these. Earlier today I wore a helmet, glasses and these for about 3 hours and didn't notice any annoyances personally.

Dumb question for yall. As an iPhone user…why would these be recommended over AirPod Pro 2?

Is this a humble brag?

I wear them daily for 5-6 hours with glasses, no problem. I also wear them with a bike helmet and glasses.

I have a pair of $25 waterproof ones with built-in SD card that I picked up for swimming since I didn't want to shell $150 for the OpenSwim. The OpenRun have far better sound quality, volume, less sound leak, and, mostl importantly to me, they are far more comfortable. That said, for swimming, the $25 ones are doing their job well enough that I am sticking with them. However, I would not want to wear them for a long period outside the water.

I am seeing more and more people using these, I always wanted to try because in the ears I have tried Samsung buds 3 pro, Google buds and Apple pods all after someone hurts my ears.
How is the sound quality, call quality and especially if it's good in the gym?
Thanks for anyone who has used these

"Up to 8-Hour Battery Life & Quick Charge"

Can anyone confirm the battery life? Random-branded ones from Amazon often run out of battery ~3 hours

Perhaps!
But I remember it vividly because it was noisy, and I was trying to turn on my (Shokz OpenRun Pro) headphones, and couldn't hear them turn on. So I thought the battery was dead. And I hate running races without music -- so there was a minute of panic when I thought I was facing a race with no music (yeah, overreacting, but if you are a runner you probably understand).
It was then that I decided I was going back to my "old" OpenRun Shokz which I could always hear clearly, even in noisy environments.
So, humble brag perhaps, but more about context/situation!

I love my openrun but I had to replace them 3 times already, first pair the multifunction button was misbehaving out of the box, the second pair started failing from the left side after about a year and the third pair suddenly the vol+ button (which is also the power button) stopper working out of the blue. They have a a 2 year warranty but is still a hasle to be without headphones for my runs for a couple of weeks at a time. When they fail and the warranty expires I'll probably look into another brand

Three hours with zero annoyances? Where do I sign up?

I tried these for 3 months and decided to return them finally. Too much compromise on sound quality and volume. Bought the latest over the ears Sony XM6 and using Ambient sound mode is actually better than these open ear designs. Good concept but poor implementation - maybe even technology limitations!
