That's an important safety note. Both Butylbenzyl phthalate (BBP) and Silicon carbide whiskers carry health risks: • Butylbenzyl phthalate (BBP): • A phthalate used as a plasticizer. • Classified as a reproductive toxicant (may affect fertility and development). • Can also cause irritation to eyes, skin, and respiratory tract with exposure. • Restricted in children's toys and childcare articles in many countries. • Silicon carbide whiskers: • Extremely fine, needle-like fibers of silicon carbide. • Inhalation hazard: they behave like asbestos in the lungs and are classified as a carcinogen (cancer-causing). • Main concern is when the material is cut, ground, or otherwise releases respirable fibers.⚠️ Safety considerations if you're handling this product: • Avoid creating or breathing dust/fibers. • Use in a well-ventilated area or under fume extraction. • Wear appropriate PPE: gloves, goggles, and a NIOSH-approved respirator if dust could be present. • Wash hands thoroughly after handling. • Keep away from children and food areas.👉 Do you want me to check the regulatory status and restrictions (like OSHA, EU REACH, or California Prop 65 listings) for these substances in consumer products?

Pending on what you "cook"... this could come in handy and become the center piece in your kitchen.

Any dangers with these doing more? Versus simple $15 toaster oven that's meant to be toaster oven, and not an oven.

I'm having trouble finding that comment or is that your comment? What's the chance of the whiskers becoming airborne or contaminating food? I'm assuming it is very slim but I don't know.

The problem with most air fryers with a glass door is that in a fair number of them the glass breaks. I don't have experience with this specific air fryer- just talking in general. Just open Amazon and look at reviews of any airfyer with a glass door -- doesn't matter which brand. Pick one with fairly high number of reviews. Then scroll through the pictures. You are bound to come across dozens of pictures with the glass having exploded. Yes, I know there are thousands of them out there without issues. So it's not that it will inevitably happen. Just saying it does happen in an alarmingly high number of cases. Somehow glass doors and air fryers seem to be a problem. Supposedly glass manufacturing has some inherent variability, and some specific impurities cause it to spontaneously explode.

Maybe they dont preheat?

Regardless…12 out of thousands is pretty good.
