Ever since I realized the cap to these can be just unscrewed and fill with whatever cleaner/concentrate you want I never saw the reason in paying for these.

On my end, it looks like the 40% coupon is a Prime exclusive coupon. I do see a 20% coupon on a non-Prime account. I haven't used either of these coupons before Smilie

with diy liquids if any bubbles pass through the line, it bricks the whole spray operation!

I have prime snd only had the 20% but it's also not bad at $7 for 2 refills with the 20% My kids have this and i told them to hack it and refill, so any advice from those who have done this on the best way ?

I basically do the same thing for anything that takes liquid. If the system is 'sealed' I just drill a medium size hole and fill it with a liquid of my choice and use any cap to close it.

We didn't, literally just unscrew the purple end from the clear end like a water bottle. I just figured I'd give it a shot since I was throwing the empty bottle anyways and that was months ago now

Maybe in other complex systems, but not this simple kind of system. Otherwise when your kids played with the swifter and pulled the trigger way past the bottle being emptied you'd need a whole new unit.
