Go for a NACS unit to future proof your charger, else you will be stuck with having to use an adapter forever!
For some people using an adapter maybe ok, but I love the fact that my NACS charger ( Tesla mobile charger) has a button which opens the charge port even if the vehicle is in sleep mode. No need to get the phone or open a door to wake up the vehicle. But if you are going to use an adapter, that may not be an option.

Edit: why downvote? This EV charger has 3 models: SEV1600HW (hardwire version), SEV1600P1450 (NEMA 14-50 version) and SEV1600P650 (NEMA 6-50 version). This particular offer is for the SEV1600P1450 version, which comes with NEMA 14-50 plug/cable. For those saying you could also hardwire this version to get 50A, of course you could do that, but you need to either cut off the 14-50 plug (and make sure the included 14-50 wire is rated for 50A) or use your own wire.

They've made quite a few EV chargers over the years that for the most part are fairly straightforward, and just "work".

Side note: Make sure your 14-50 is heat resistant, usually the faceplate is metal. I like Bryant Electric 14-50. Some of the older 14-50 (usually plastic) will burn due to the sustain electric draw (10 straight hours of 10kw) and the plugs are not tight enough. Bryant Electric plugs uses a torque screw (tighter clamp) instead of Phillips screw. If you know how to replace a wall plug this too will be DIY.
