Some bags that expire later were stale already.

Did the date bother you enough to throw them out?
Crazy that they would refund a close to best by date if it wasn't expired.
You can still easily get a refund, even if it is marked as non-returnable. They just issue a credit.
If the products are stale within the freshness (NOT EXPIRY... FRESHNESS OR BEST BY) date, then contact Frito Lay, who will give you a coupon for a replacement or check if the value exceeds $10.
