Seek times are unrelated to storage density and are largely irrelevant due to NCQ. 24TB isn't even that large. You can get 32TB in the enterprise and 28TB in the home.You do realize that more data means more information is read per RPM... right?You do realize this read and writes contiguous files at ~310 MBPS... right?What a strange comment.

I spent several days in 10 minutes increments trying to get a work colleague to understand the outside of a disc was moving faster than the inside. On the final day I used string and a disc as a prop. I showed him if the disk spun 1 time both the inside and outside finished at the same time. I used a string to show him the difference in distance. I then asked if something traveled the 1 inch in 5 seconds and 5inches in 5 seconds it would stand to reason you had to travel faster. at the end I suspect he was just trolling me or really not up for the mental work and would never get it so I gave up.

I would like to add that I have never had issues with Toshiba. Although it is luck based as any can fail, my sucess rate has been great with Toshiba. Only main issue one would be the Seagate ones though...

I still remember back in middle school, I had a really great PE teacher, but he did not understand that the outside of a track was longer than the inside.

Same here, however, the last Toshiba drives I bought were 3TB drives and long enough ago that they've all been retired. I do occasionally keep an eye on what Toshiba drives are available and for what cost but they haven't been as available on a deal and I don't really know how cool they run or how reliable they have been lately.

I've never used Toshiba HDDs but, way back in the day of Windows 7, I had a Toshiba laptop. It was the best laptop experience for me to this day. Why they bailed out of laptop business is beyond me.

Toshiba has made laptop drive's forever, I don't know but probably one of the better drives around.
