Not a big discount, but less than others in this price range with these specs. I know it also depends if you have a micro center near you as well. The title on the site says 144hz, but all specs point towards 180hz.

What are people's thoughts on this vs the Sceptre C345B-QUT16 that is $10 cheaper and new vs this refurb.

Is this a good monitor? I don't need something crazy I just want one for work that can essentially replace my dual flat 24's that looks good and lets me play my ps5 and look good?

It's 144Hz at 10-bit depth, 180Hz at 8-bit depth. Seeing as how the difference in refresh rate between 144Hz and 180Hz is 0.0014 seconds between frames, I chose the greater bit depth.

I like mine a lot more than my HP x34 IPS ultrawide monitor that was flat. Be warned, however, consoles don't support ultrawide resolutions.

How exactly do you refurbish a monitor? Replace the ports? New panel?

I could be wrong, but my guess is it's just a returned item that they reset the settings on and make sure it works/looks good.

Any units sent back in warranty claims, including claims from retailers- is the bulk of it. Units found failing their off the line QA process goes into these as well IIRC. That's why for monitors like these they're in much better shape than a laptop from 2 years ago that's possibly frankensteined back to life.
Yes, they'd replace the defective part, enclosure, screen, controller, power adapter if integrated, usually every part is replaceable. And sometimes they're fine just need it tested then shipped out again. Smilie

Oh ok but I presume warranty is nerfed compared to new?

Ratings has a favorable review of it and discusses some drawbacks to the monitor. note that the review is on the cu34g2x model rather than the cu34g2xp-b model. I don't know what changes those extra letters may entail. the review also calls out other models that may be in a similar price range.

looks like a good deal if you want this size monitor
