How similar is it to bf6? Ive only only bf3 and 4
yea it was pretty damn bad at launch they have fixed lots of issues since then but no where near worth 60$ or even 30$ or even 15$ or even 7.5$ but at 3$, its ok since they got some stuff that you get when/if you buy BF6.

Feel however you want about 2042 and 5 but to think 1 is bad (and worse than 2042) is crazy talk.
yea that opinion is wild. 1 was an atmospheric masterpiece. literally the first minute of the campaign intro had me like wtf.

This game also is the path to getting free rewards for battlefield 6 once it comes out

Pretty gimmicky. Sell something for $3 (that is worth $0) to give people some skins that they can only get if they spend $70 on BF6.

BF 2042 is unarguably the WORSE BF ever made... by far. It is if DICE sat down and spend a lot of time to come up with ways to make the game the worse. I mean, really put effort into that.

They then spent _2 years_ coming up with BF6, only to make a game that is playable... but still not BF (at least not yet).

Someone calculated that it takes about 40 hours of grinding to complete the free battlepass and that's assuming you play everyday for the daily bonus, do all the weeklies, and play 111 rounds with at least 15k XP each (x20 minutes each ~= 37 hours). I'm worried about the amount of grind/FOMO that BF6 will have...

Saw posts that you can just create portal servers to do this also relatively quickly.

Here's the post I was referring to: https://www.reddit.com/r/battlefi...g/n9ikbtl/

60 ranks on the battlepass
10 points per battlepass rank
Each point requires 4750 XP
You get ~15000 XP per match or a bit more if you're good

It's going to be a good chunk of time due to limits on XP on Portal servers: https://www.reddit.com/r/battlefi...t/m4oqroj/

If we own it through the EA App, is there any way to get Steam to recognize our license to run it through Steam instead?

Does this have controller support? I just played the PC beta (BF6) and loved it ...my wired razer controller worked flawlessly (same as Blops6 on PC).

Yeah, 2042 is widely regarded as the absolute worst Battlefield game. I can't personally think of one that was worse than that one. Actually, I might give the nod for worst Battlefield game to Vietnam. That one felt more like shooting at trees than playing a fun game.

No solo campaign only online silly helicopter/tank fight boring mostly. Hard pass even at $3 for me. Loved the older BF3 /4/ 1/ V which I own and play. Stopped buying with online only next releases.
Agreed, for only only they should be half price of regular games on launch

As a huge fan of BF3 (my absolute favorite) where I played Conquest Large 99% of the time and BF4, I was ABSOLUTELY FLOORED to play Caspian Border and a few older maps in Conquest on this game, BF2042. For $3, I can't get over being able to relive that map among others.

BUT what floored me was that Battlefield Bad Company 2 maps and characters/weapons are also here! BFBC2 was one of my first games I got on Steam, when I first had a PC that could play games and I can't tell you how happy I am to be able to get all of this for $3!

Highly recommend. I'm playing now after all the updates, I see destruction is in at least the BF3/4 maps and working as I expected, the ability to change attachments on the fly is amazing. Revive time allows you to work with your squad. There's a lot to love here. I think this game is much better than the terrible reviews would have you believe.
