Qualcomm owns 10% of the PC market for laptops sold above $600, it's in a great position. Intel is in big trouble…

I just purchased this laptop from costco for $800. It is fantastic so far. At this price discount, I bought from Amazon and will bring back my costco purchase. hp sells a 3 yr accidental damage warranty for $200 that i am going to add on. I'll still be at $800 with a addition year of warranty that covers accidents.

Are your kids going to be using it, I personally have never damaged or broke any of my laptops, it seems more likely that they will have manufacturing defects as in most cases would be something like a broken fan. Easy and cheap fixes. If a gpu or cpu lasts for the first few months of use, it's very likely you will not have an problems with them. Warranties are rarely used, if they weren't incredibly profitable than they wouldn't exist.

good point. I do have kids, but they won't be using it. I had the extra coverage on my last laptop that was closer to $2k. I'm glad I did as the screen was stepped on. for $600, easier to take a chance and save the money.

I feel like people still hate on these Qualcomm laptops. I don't really get it.

I used my brothers laptop for a week and I never noticed any issues. The battery was amazing. It was quiet. Never got hot. And was really thin.

For this price, I don't understand why they don't sell better.

Is the one from the hp the same model? That one has only 512g hard drive. It is $529. With edu account, you get a few % off. If you subscribe to hp email, you get $20 off $65 purchase.
Using AE card, you get $50 back $299 HP purchase.

The final price after tax is less than $500.
