This is a typo on Amazon. This rod can throw up to 1 1/2 oz...not 1/2 oz

Thanks OP. Bought the 7ft heavy for $50. I'll pair it with the Dobyn's reel I bought last week.

I have several Dobyn's rods including the Champion XP and Sierra series and they are great rods. Their actions are rated softer than other brands so if you want a medium get a medium/heavy, etc.

Great great time to try the maverick. I use the fury, sierra and champion xp exclusively. Never had a problem

The MK 735C from the posting is the one I want but with the coupon it's 89.99 for me. Curiously, the 734c was 50.59 with the coupon so I bought that.
Oh well! Folks say they like Dobyns rods so we will see.

My personal experience with Dobyns isn't super great. I had a Dobyns Kaden spinning rod snap at the tip. Only the second rod I've broke in 40yrs of fishing. I'm sure it was just a defect rod and most are probably fine. But it left a bad taste in my mouth.
