The thing I like about this deal is the warranty and the return policy. When I bought my Ally Open Box from Best Buy in October of last year, the SD card reader didn't work (no surprise). But mine was still under warranty. I gave ASUS the receipt from BB and I got it repaired and its worked fine ever since. But those devices are no longer under warranty. So if you buy any of these from this listing, you're able to make sure it all works fine out of the box or you return it under their 30 day return policy and the seller pays for the shipping back. Then, if you still have a problem, you've got the two year Allstate warranty to lean on. I don't know how good those warranties are to be honest. I've bought a number of refurb Acer laptops through eBay and have never had anything that needed warranty repair, but still.... better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
As for the device itself, I think it's really good. Works well as-is with Windows or you can install Bazzite or SteamOS itself. You can mod the heck out of it if you want the larger battery. The screen is great. Sure I wish it was OLED and HDR, but 120Hz with VRR is pretty nice. Use this with GeForce Now Ultimate Tier and you can max out everything and actually hit that 120Hz and the battery life goes up because it's not doing as much of the processing.

The new one from best buy costs 450...why not wait for that deal. The warranty is from Allstate not sure about that? How they even provide warranty? The sd card reader has as design flaw and it's sure to be broken..

It looks like the new Xbox interface is going to be backwards compatible with these older Ally's. I also expect these to be in the $300 range soon and will be an excelent steel at that price.

I don't think they'll drop to that low of a price. My Ally Z1 Extreme works really good and I have no need to upgrade it to this Xbox variation. Now, I do want to upgrade my Windows to this new Xbox branded one for handhelds the moment it's available for my Ally.
