this blender is a joke. I have been using vitamix's for over a decade. My 5300 gave up the ghost 3 weeks ago so I picked up one of these. I finally used it tonight and it lasted seven minutes of blending over the course of 45 minutes. I know that because it counts the time on each blend. I've been making smoothies in my vitamix's for 10 years now. once a month I make usually six blends. It takes about an hour and I probably spend about 15 to 20 minutes actively using the blender in that time.

This new one lasted a whoppin 7 minutes. I am honestly in shock. physically The base is much larger than the previous model. basically it was going into an overheat mode. on the final blend, I was only 59 seconds into blending. It was almost done. The other weird thing is that I had to add nearly twice the amount of liquids to the smoothie of what I normally did on my 5300.

So I definitely don't recommend it. It has a longer warranty than my old blender but it did only last 7 minutes total. I kept on waiting for it to cool down but even after 20 minutes it still would not turn on again.

I love my Vitamix. I think this is a great deal with the 5 year warranty. I bought 2 as gifts and they let me use the coupon 2 times.

I got one of these refurbs on the previous wellbots deal ($227, but no sales tax) and the blender is great.
Came in official Vitamix certified refurbished packaging and looks like new.
Came from a Ninja blender of similar power and this blows it away.
Biggest adjustment was loading order (see the manual) and the recommendation to only run for extended periods at top speed (10). Lower speeds for extended times can overheat.

Pretty much yes. They do sell a commercial one with a quieter motor and an enclosure around the jar, the same as they use in all the smoothie restaurants. It's significantly quieter but be prepared to pay lots more.

I'd recommend avoiding this model unless you absolutely need a shorter appliance. The wider jar needs a lot more stuff in it to blend properly, so you'll be stopping and manually mixing quite often, and you'll need to blend longer which is annoying considering how loud it is. Get the taller and thinner one.

Micro plastics are much more dangerous than glass.

I got a refurb a few years back and bought the smaller MINI 32 OZ/.9L/TRITAN/WET BL/LID/NO NSF to go with it. Been using for 7 years on and off. I have not used the 64 oz container because I only make single smoothies for 1 or 2 people.
