Note reviews on the BR tee say it shrinks badly (even when washed in cold water and dried on low)

This is very true I bought it in store a couple of months ago and was actually going to wear it yesterday was it was too small.

The Gap shirts run small. I normally get a medium for button ups. The large fits me well. (5'10" 175). Don't like the big sleeve openings, though.

I bought a couple of the BR shirts in-store, and yeah, they shrink basically a full size or more, even washing them per care instructions. I hadn't thought to return them but I very well might. It's a shame because they are very soft, comfortable shirts (when they fit).

Funny, I am currently wearing this very shirt (Banana Republic) the quality seems good. A little thicker than I'd prefer but comfy so here I am wearing it. I only got one though.

I can't believe I've become addicted to buying clothes at Costco.

This shirt style always seems like a good summer option but they're almost always uncomfortable and/or look goofy for some reason or another (at least the bargain ones), and I have very normal proportions. The Target ones are especially haneous.

Because it's 100% cotton. I would size up for shrinkage.

Yup, my large is more of a medium after a wash. Going up one size is the way to go.

This Calvin Klein t-shirt is also part of their buy 3 save $10 promo that appears to stack with this deal:

https://www.costco.com/.product.1886045.html

More sizes/colors available than the Banana Republic option.

Original price: $14.99
- $2 off instant savings
- $3.33 off (buy 3 save 10)
- $4 off (buy 5 save $20) [note I combined with 1 Gap, 1 BR to get to the 5 total; it does not seem to stack twice if you purchase 6]

Brings it down to a little under the $6/shirt in this post (my 5 above are totaling $28.91) and may open up some additional sizes/options if you're not finding what you want. It also appears to have better reviews given the shrinking issues of the BR.
