We have NUMEROUS of these same models at work -- zero issues ... pumps out good cold air and with virtually no noise ....

The reason for the original recall was I guess someone forgot to put the drainage plug in -- but they fixed that and also compensated everyone involved ...

BUT - excellent A/C at excellent price ... we got this particular model so the windows could drop all the way down (or much lower then standard window units) which helped greatly in security and in insulation ...

This may be cheaper in warehouse, clearance so YMMV, but a lot of stores have it @ 249.97.

I'm seeing $249.97 in warehouse at both locations by me with plenty in stock (5+). If you don't need it now, I wouldn't be surprise if these fall down to $199 in the next 2 weeks given the time of year.

Those prices were included in the OP. $269.99 instore $250 clearance
for $10 it's worth it to have it shipped it's a decent size box and weight.

"this time of year" is meaningless in SE FL. Only 1 store had it on clearance.

Does anyone know if Costco ships with FedEx or UPS? UPS drivers are horrible here and they either bang your packages up to hell or they claim "incorrect address" and never deliver it! They've been doing that shit for years now! I have no problem with FedEx.

ETA: Ugh, I just checked the product page and it says "Standard shipping via UPS Ground is included in the quoted price."

Haha it's crazy, I have the same issue. I specifically avoid anyone who fulfills shipments with UPS. Just the other day I paid a vendor a little extra to ship with USPS and they shipped with UPS anyways. 3 days late (each day it said "out for delivery" and then at the end of the day it says "incorrect address") and it was eventually delivered days late and left outside in the rain delivered at 9pm!!!

You could sign up for mychoice and have them hold IMPORTANT packages for pickup at the local terminal if it's nearby...Especially If you get alot of items delivered?

Yes, if it is in 30 days. If you buy it from warehouse, just go to managers with your receipt and item number, they will refund.

I was a fan of Midea and had this same AC before. I had to do the recall as mine did have mold. only had it for less than a year. it's been close to 3 months now and I have yet to get my money back. I highly recommend to avoid this brand at all costs.

Just installed the 8k version of this last week. A nice little AC with good efficiency and fairly quiet.

NOTE: The old mold issues (there was a lawsuit and a big mess over this!) are fixed in the version that HD is selling. You have to install using a level to make sure that the frame is at a slight slope, and you have to replace the old pre-installed drain plug with a newly designed one (they include a bag of them with the AC).
