Why would someone buy these for $2/pc when you can purchase generic rechargeable ones for barely more or "branded ones" for a dollar or two more per piece?

Smoke detectors chirping and you don't want to worry about losing a battery if you forget to take it if you're renting and you'd have to replace it.

Still seems expensive
It is overpriced!
you can purchase 9v generic rechargeable ones for barely more on Ali or "branded ones" for a dollar or two more per piece on Amazon
Amazon also has a dozen of 9v for $9 that I last me 4 years in storage. I buy those because the multimeters I use need 9v. I've replaced 9v generic rechargeable batteries in all my Smoke detectors and never had to throw a battery out.
I'm really, really curious what people buy these really expensive, and for no good reason, 9v batteries for.
There has to be good reason for Energizer to be making them!
