  • About the bundle:
    • Fall for the series that inspired the Apple TV+ hit with the all-new Martha Wells' Murderbot & More Bundle! Wells' Murderbot Diaries series tells the on-going story of an artificial Security Unit that hacks its governor module, enabling it to rebel against its programming. Unlike most constructs, Murderbot just wants to be left alone to stream the tens of thousands of hours of streaming media it's downloaded to its memory banks. But as much as it wants to avoid the human drama around it, Murderbot just keeps getting dragged back in.
    • This multi-Hugo Award-winning series includes standout titles like All Systems Red and Artificial Condition.
    • Plus, a portion of your purchase helps support World Central Kitchen.
  • About this Deal:
    • Offer valid through Saturday September 13th, 2025 at 1:59pm ET, while supplies last.
    • Please see the original post for additional details & give the WIKI and additional forum comments a read for helpful discussion.

And, just so you know without having to click through:
All 14 books are by Martha Wells
7 of the 14 are Murderbot novels
Even if you are only interested in the Murderbot books, $2 per book is pretty darn good!

Thanks. I don't have Kindle Unlimited and prefer to buy the books when they're on sale.

Murderbot series is one of my favorites! I listened to the audio books, and I couldn't stop listening.

Highly recommend the series, especially at this price. I loved the planet-hopping, late stage capitalism setting. It's unmistakably far future sci-fi, but the tech felt very grounded and believable. The main character (the titular "Murderbot") struck a great balance of being relatable, yet clearly not human.

For anyone who prefers to listen, the audiobooks are excellent. I'd personally recommend going with the regular ones (as opposed to Audible's "dramatized" versions). Kevin R. Free does a great job delivering Murderbot's lines in a way that fits the character perfectly. It's relatively flat, and devoid of most of the intonation or emotion "normal" human speech would have (but not so much so that it's unpleasant to listen to). That may not sound desirable, but it's perfect when your character is a genderless, nameless android who considers "having an emotion" to be a deeply unsettling experience. I also think having a single narrator just makes more sense, given how much dialogue happens within Murderbot's head.

Are these short stories? Audiobook is only 3 hours but has a 12 week wait period at my library. Apparently it's in hot demand.

I completely agree! I love the Murderbot series. I hate that they are novellas (i.e. shorter books) but I have loved them and have repeated listening to the series a few times now. I also agree that Kevin R. Free's version is WAY better than the dramatized versions.

Of the Murderbot series, Network Effect and System Collapse are full-length novels. Home and Rapport are short stories. The rest are novellas (150-200 pages).

It can vary per library. My Hoopla only has the audiobooks -- both traditional and dramatized versions -- and one of the short stories (which, despite being excellent, hardly seems worth using a borrow on).

Check your local library. I've read several Kindle editions through ours and through their free affiliated services (CloudLibrary, Hoopla, Libby).
