Decent specs for an ebook reader or kids tablet:
8GB LPDDR5, Tensor G2 cpu, usb-c charging port (does not support video output), android 14, front & rear cameras.

Be aware:
No headphone jack, no microSD slot, can't be used as external monitor, no sim, can't install chrome extensions.

With no new tablet in sight it's only a matter of time before Google kills this off too

give me some room to be wrong, but isn't this exactly the same price as on Google's own site?

I own one of these. This is a $150 or $200 tablet. The CPU is average at best and the screen isn't great. It's not pleasant to hold because of the sharp leading edge.

I share this sentiment but I don't have an issue holding it.
It definitely feels like an overpriced tablet. I say get it only you really want a Pixel experience on a tablet.

Odd, I came here to apparently share the exact opposite experience from the above owners. We have 4 of them in the house, 3 kids and me. The Google case is what elevates this tablet for me. It's the best designed case I've ever used, makes it super easy to hold and is flexible for lots of different situations (easily mounts on a car headrest, on a plane, etc.).

Best Android tablet experience I've had, and I've tested lots of Android tablets. This seems to work best size and performance-wise without having to go up to the massive Samsung tablets.

This is what's happening. This tablet has been out for a long time.

better than Samsung Tab? I doubt it.
That's exactly what I said. Best outside of the massive Samsung tablets.

I personally had a good experience with it.
It's fast enough for everyday use and the android OS finally has nice tablet features. Doesn't come with the Samsung apps that duplicates every google apps, which is nice.
I can't speak to gaming performance but it seems to handle the light casual games I throw at it
Certainly not a bad mid budget option.

OK. I looked back and I missed your part about the Same tablets. I love mine from 6 years ago or so. They're a little big but not not massive. I mainly use it for tv/movies. The OLED screen is great. But I don't carry it around.

With all these points, it seems overpriced, even at the sale price.

Funny thing is... They only take Samsung or Apple tables for trade. Not their own Wink
