I would be wary of Dreame, I had this model from a previous deal for a few weeks after which the mop stopped attaching. Customer support was beyond abysmal (hard to reach, barely any troubleshooting besides turning it off and on again, kept trying to get me off the phone) and after a back and forth I was able to luckily return to Amazon.
The Reddit forum for Dreame is full of AI generated replies that are clearly not from real customers but from Dreame support. I overlooked some of the quality control issues that folks reported on Reddit because of the quantity of other positive reviews. However if you truly read a lot of the positivity it does not comes across as if a real person wrote it.
I went back to my Roborock S5 max and the navigation is better and the robot is more reliable and I find the app to be much more responsive. I think there's something to be said that they may have added so many bells and whistles to this robot that the actual simple vacuuming seemed worse and less accurate at navigation.

no clue how this compares to the x30 Ultra, but I've been very impressed with ours for the 3 months we've had it. Price on this looks pretty good.

The L range is their more affordable version where x is their premium. There's usually not a huge difference in features though, it usually just has better vacuum pressure.

40 and 30 series are VERY similar and the l40 is an excellent robot vacuum and at this price is a crazy good deal! If you don't own one it's a no brainer at this price. One of the best on the market last year at the price of a discount robot vacuum

How does this Robot do on high pile rugs? Looking at buying for my parents to do a 1200sqft condo, but their runners and rugs are a bit thicker than the standard carpet. Tried a Switchbot and that was a disaster. I know most robots struggle with high pile or shag, however my personal X10 Omni has been decent - just haven't had a chance to try it at their place and don't want to buy it and regret it, then have to return it.

It does okay, as I believe this model can drop off the mop pads at the base, then just vacuum the rug without dragging wet mop pads on it. Unfortunately, it really depends how easy it is for the robot to drive up onto the high pile, you won't really know until you run it.

Scoure: I own an X30 and three high pile rugs. It does ok on two of them, and not great on the third (a super long hair shag rug, and also has frilled ends).

Can't speak for this specific model, but I bought the h12 pro earlier this year and I can say the brand is solid.

If you have Costco membership they have the Costco labeled version for $500. it probably includes extra parts/filters vs this one, and I like Costco return policy.
