People that actually play the game versus reviewers that are paid to review. I'm sure at this price point. It's a perfectly enjoyable experience.
Also add an a dash of nuance because steam's review system is either thumbs up or thumbs down.

If only it was steam deck compatible. That would be an instant thumbs up for me.

Why are the Steam scores so high? IGN gave 4/10 and metacritic 47%.

I checked ProtonDB to see if this game runs on the Deck and most reports (notably the more recent ones) claimed it does work; but as I personally can't confirm it, I'd take it with a grain of salt. I picked it up anyway at this price to play on the Deck but if it's not as solid as those reports say, I can fall back on playing it on my gaming PC. I guess YMMV, but I thought it was worth passing that info I found along.

it's a pretty cool game, the DLC Annihilation Line is fun also if you get it on a decent sale price. It's a little on rails though.

At one point I figured I could probably take out a big force of T-800, T-600s instead of sneaking by all of them. It would have worked but Kyle Reese kept getting himself killed no matter how I tried to do it. Any other time, Reese never dies no matter what.
That's what i mean by "on rails."

I've seen Terminator 1 and 2 about 50x each. Grew up on them. This game was written by Terminator fans for Terminator fans. Production level as a game is not AAA by any means. But the story should have been Terminator 3.

Thanks for the heads up. I can't stand rail shooters. Might as well just watch a movie

It isn't a rail shooter. I think they just meant it's actually more linear than it portrays itself to be, as it gives off a vibe of being a bit more open-ended but a lot of your potential engagement options aren't actually meant to be viable.

Sooner or later this game will be pulled from the market when the license expires. Any sense on if that's the reason there's a sale now?

This is made by the same team that made the recent Robocop movie. I like their work. It's a little lower budget than AAA games, but they show love for the franchises. The soundtrack is very Terminator synth-y. It's a good game to add to your collection.

With AI becoming more and more of a reality, and the way how it is "hooked into everything", I just can't play this game...
