Mine too and that results in me being between sizes. I feel like the Incredible Hulk in a medium. I could bust the seams if I flexed hard.

Cool and breathable.... Translation: thin fabric with loose weave. IMO, the only Hanes to get is the beefy T, and I can't even say for sure that they're still any good.

I've got some newer T shirts (actual maker unknown) that literally have developed holes in a single season of use....

Lots of, or maybe even most, clothing today is basically cheap crap. Gotta watch what you buy...

These are undershirts and made as thin as possible but not be see through. They shrink quite a bit so buy 2 sizes larger than your normal. Follow those two thoughts and these are a great undershirt.
