I bought one a few days ago and haven't picked it up yet. My local store had it for full price and in stock so I still had to pay the $50 online handling fee to get it for this price. Realistically it's $850 + tax. Great deal for a full air suspension bike even with slightly outdated geometry with things like a rear through axle missing, no rear lockout, and only 10 gears. I can live with that for the price of a regular hardtail. Edit: I bought the 29" version not this 27.5". Also Al's has this in Utah and wherever they have stores that you can pick it up without the $50 extra fee.

This is a 27.5" and a 10 speed. But it has a dropper.

Thinking of getting 2 x Large for me and the wife to get into mountain biking. Would this be a good fit?

Also should I do home delivery for $50 extra or in store pickup? Seems you can't get away from this destination fee no matter what. It would be nice to be able to do an easy return, if so would in store pickup be a better option?

How tall are you? I'm 5' 11" and i did the size chart on their website and it said I should get a small.

5 11" as well. I was eyeing the large however from what I read online. I also see alot of folk suggesting the trance, just unsure if its the trance 29 1 or 29 2.

I have the girls version of these. They are very capable bikes in the right hands. You cannot find a better bang for buck my 10 yr old daughter rides an xs and hits all the trails I ride regularly.

Which would you recommend? Would you recommend any of the trance or other models over this one? If so which?

My wife has the women's (Liv) 2021 version of this. They downgraded the 2022 a lot.

Negatives from working on it I see are:

-130mm travel front, 120mmrear, rear shock is an uncommon size if you ever need to replace. Not sure if you can do anything on the Giant Crest forks, the 2021 had Suntour front that you could adjust travel on.
-Very basic rear triangle, not advanced with bunch of bearings, not as good anti-squat as a Horst link
-Rear wheel hub is a weird 141mm QR skewer that only Giant used. Basically boost spacing, but with a QR skewer. Good luck finding a replacement wheel or hub with that if you need to.
-2022 comes with a 1x10 11-46 Deore drivetrain. It's ok, but really should be 11 or 12spd 10-52t if you want good climbing range.
-Seatpost tube has a kink that REALLY limits the insertion depth of a dropper post. You aren't going to be able to slam the seat all the way.
-Shimano MT-200 are serviceable brakes, but these are the cheapest of the cheap hydro brakes they make. Would recommend upgrading for anything serious.

Overall it's not a bad bike for the price, but your upgrade paths are VERY limited if you get it and decide you want to upgrade things later.

Negative. They charge 109 shipping fee if bike costs less than 1500.
