if you want to "game" you do not want 8gb in 2025 and on. You want either a:

4080 mobile gpu (12gb)
5070 ti mobile gpu (12gb)
5080 mobile gpu (16 gb)
*****not this 5070 mobile gpu(8gb)

you can find a few great 4080 laptops with good cooling (and undervolting if you want to make it even better)

for older non aaa 3d games, sure it's perfect actually, but not more modern games (not that they are more fun just more gpu intensive).

Wow a killer deal for a 5070. Wish it had more ram but at this price and with a free copy of bf6 this is the best deal I've seen in a while.

I asked the automated answer bot about the RaM....it said: "According to the item page, the maximum RAM supported is 64 GB.

Looking at the pictures, there appears to be a USB-A & USB-C on the right side and 2 USB-A's on the left side.

That could be correct, I was asking the WalMart Bot, so who knows if it's actually accurate.

Agree. I am comparing this to the Gigabyte Aero X16 which is $100 more. Looks like the Aero is slighty lighter and have 32GB ram over Katana's 16GB. I am not able to find the info/ comparsion on the monitor though, but it appears Katana might be better?

Edit: Wait this is a MSI laptop, so the hinges issue is a big con for buyer.

This one got pretty good reviews from computer review sites. Machine is noted as being a beast for a gaming laptop at this price range, but major con is it comes with a crappy display. Review sites mention this would be good for people who intend to use it with a separate monitor as the attached display is noticeably poor quality.

Awesome deal for a 5070.

Two serious questions:

1. Is it worth paying the price for a 5070 8gb vs 5060 8gb? Everything I read says if it's not 12gb-16gb video RAM you will have issues so does 5060 vs 5070 really matter unless you jump to a 5070 ti?

2. I have heard MSI has a lot of issues to include heat, is there any truth to this? Everyone always recommends Lenovo Legion or ASUS.

Most people's computers don't have 12-16GB of VRAM.
Sure you won't be running the new Doom game at 200fps in 4k on Ultra but you definitely won't have "issues".
