Many have reported that UberEats and DoorDash stop offering promotions on your account if they see gift cards loaded. They get your money one way or another. Something to keep in mind if you are planning to load up on these "discounted" gift cards.

A good way to bypass it is to load the gift card within 3 months of spending via changing Payment Methods in Uber. So you get the discount first and then apply the gift card amount.

do you mean load the gift card right before spending? what does the "3 months" signify?

No after spending without a GC. Therefore you get the discount code first, take the trip, (theoretically accumulate the spending to $50+ since the gift card is $50 face value) and then apply the loaded gc amount to your prior trips/spending. However, you can only do this for trips within 3 months.

oh ok thanks, i had no idea you could retroactively apply to prior trips, does it refund the amount back onto your card?

Yep. And this is the always dicount at Costco so its not a deal. Whats funny is people post deals when you can get 10-20% discounts on Uber Gift Cards but its always 20% off at Costco. Sometimes its $74.99 so that is worth posting

check your service fee and price when you use uber cash, you pay a way more. Create a new account and compare. unless costco sells it for 70 or 75 this is not a deal

this is what I have heard
I have two accounts. both I usually load up with Costco cards and each gets the $15 Uber Cash from AMEX - I keep one instance of app in my Samsung secure folder so I can check both... I will be doing major airport run soon so will compare them against Lyft

Can you search ride, then add the gift card number and then confirm ride ??? Someone else mentioned you can retro apply a gift card but not sure it works

Lot of false information in this thread. There is zero, 100% no chance that Uber charges you more when you're using Uber Cash. That is so illegal.

Might be shady or maybe even illegal but they are doing , many data points of two accounts compared same bat time, same bat place , same bat destiination
