Does anyone have any experience running mesh on an AT&T fiber router? Not sure if it's even possible without extensive configuration of a private network.

Works fine.

Option 1: Dual Nat (just plug it in and go).
Option 2: They can help you set up a passthrough.

Both worked fine for me w/ ASUS routers in mesh mode. Obviously option #2 is preferred but did plenty of WFH, gaming, etc. before they figured out how to passthrough.

Depending on your gateway but most of them have a pseudo "bridge" mode that works reasonably well with these routers for home users

The AT&T fiber box does not have a passthrough mode, which is super annoying. But you can disable most stuff manually to make it passthrough-adjacent (and avoid double NAT issues).

Edit: My bad, I chose my words poorly. They have ip passthrough, but no bridge mode. Whenever I said passthrough above I meant bridge. Thank you for correcting me

This has been lower, if you can wait it might go back down around BF. For reference, what I'm talking about is the deal run by Amazon for the BE25 (which is the same, I think the Best Buy model numbers are just for them), was $200 with like 25% cash back on your prime card.

I'm mystified because my AT&T Fiber box has been in passthrough to my Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro (and a precursor box) since 2009 or so. What issue do you have?
To do this, go to (router), Firewall / IP Passthrough / Allocation Mode and set it to Passthrough. I set the mode to DHCPS-fixed and passthrough the MAC from the UDMP.
Works great.

Amazon has it for $209.
Minus 20% for Prime (Visa).
Minus 5% (only for a few) for students.
Roughly $160.

It does, at least with BGW320

More e-waste. You are better off with a triband wifi6e mesh than this. No open firmware and tplink is well-known for making abandonware making different versions of with the same model numbers to make it seem like they support their routers like other manufacturers but if you have any earlier revision you are screwwed. Exactly this - I've had two rounds of Deco routers running in pass through mode with no problem. First the Deco M5 and now the Deco x60 (which I want to upgrade but they're so rock solid it doesn't make any sense to get rid of them).
