While this is the large, solar, and sapphire version of the Fenix, it isn't the Pro version. This means it doesn't have the better screen, flashlight, or heart rate sensor that this generation eventually got with the Pro, and is also missing a few metrics. The Pro version of the 7X sapphire solar has a retail of $1000 if that's any indication, clearly garmin believed it was/is a notably better piece of hardware.

just got an Epix 2 pro 51mm silver for $439 from jensonusa (last one or I would have posted). If this isn't the pro, wait for the pro at this price. but it seems like all the last gen epix/fenix have been discontinued so there may not be many screaming deals left.

yeah it was a killer deal. that was 3 weeks after I thought I got a fenix 7 pro solar sapphire from opticsplanet for 399, but they delayed and delayed and eventually just cancelled the order. will never order from them again. jensonusa on the other hand, I bought an e-mtb from there for a killer price a few weeks ago, and then saw the deal on the epix on one of their marketing emails and they are now solid in my book. two killer deals in a month and they ship fast.

You can get the Pro for like $500. Bass Pro Shops & Cabellas have it for $550? Then use a Gift Card website to save 10-20% on $550 in gift cards. Plus cash back at Bass Pro + Gift Card website.

nope, was brand new. They just blew out the few remaining ones they had as I don't think Garmin is shipping any more.

I'm pretty sure this model has the features you mentioned above - you may have meant that these features were upgraded with the pro version, but they are all offered on this model.

yes, thats what I meant by "better". The Pro version has multiple upgrades to various components/features on the base version.
