Warning: Alltrails recently released a higher end subscription option called Peak @ $80/year. They took features away from Plus and shifted them to the more expensive tier, and now bug you repeatedly when you open the app to upgrade to Peak.

I've decided I don't want to support this bait and switch after already paying for a full year of the previous features they took away, and am shifting my tracking to other apps like Wikiloc.

use a VPN and set it to Brazil and use Paypal to pay. 4 to 5 bucks a year. Thank me later

I highly recommend trying out GaiaGPS and Hiking Project before spending any money on this.

I paid for the annual ($18.99) some months ago and am dissatisfied. Compared to others it doesn't fare much better in terms of trails maps and tracking.

What really makes me seethe is that after every event it asks me to rate the trail, upload photos, and other social media data mining bullcrap that slows down my experience. It does this every single time I use the app to record my hike.

It's also constantly selling me a more expensive subscription even after I paid for this tier.

This app is bloated and not much better than alternatives. Try the other free ones first.

Giving this app the first thumbs down I have ever given on slickdeals.

It's baaaaaack.

This sale pops up quarterly. As always, if you are a current Plus member you are not eligible, however, you CAN turn off auto-renew and wait for your membership to expire, then take advantage of this promo the next time it comes around, without losing your stuff.

Also, as always, try using a VPN to sign up from Brazil, with a credit card that has no foreign transaction fees, and thank me later.

I find it difficult to understand the support for developers who launch paid applications by relying on the unpaid contributions of the naturist community. These platforms often ask us to map routes and provide detailed information, only to later restrict access to that very content behind subscription fees. It can feel as though the community's passion and efforts are being exploited rather than fairly valued.

Sounds like this app for discovery and Gaia for actual mapping is a good combo. I'm hoping to get out more in the next year, so for $4.61 I'll see how bad it really is. Nice to have CapOne one-vendor CC numbers and auto-lock dates for things like this.

+1
My friends and I refer to it as GarbageTrails -- it sucks; lots of crap content and missing trails as well. Definitely a money grap rip-off; there are plenty of better apps out there.

1, use a free AllTrails # for pictures and the trail info.
2, design your own gpx at https://gpx.studio/. With just a few clicks, you can tailor your ideal routes to perfection.
3, load the gpx files to OsmAnd~ on Android, for offline navigation.
https://f-droid.org/en/packages/net.osmand.plus/

Those gpx files were from hikers. Why should we pay AllTrails for those gpx files?

Gaia GPS averages 3.2/5 * and the Hiking Project 3.8 * on Google Play, vs. 4.7 * for All Trails. I'll stick with All Trails, tyvm

I know I have a subscription because I can start a hike, but trying to view the current billing information is beyond frustrating. It's like it's intentionally hidden.

Why are reviews so bad for GAIA GPS? Makes me doubt if you have some sort of affiliation with them since you are advocating for the aps that the internet has downvoted down to abyss.
