They've got some great stuff and I expect this is no exception. If i hadn't just set up wyze mesh for a network in my vacation home I'd be all over this instead as a router plus some APs

What is this used for? I have an unmanaged Ethernet switch with 2 ubiquiti AP's and want to run POE ubiquiti security cameras. Will this benefit me, not sure specifically what this does. Thanks in advance

This is one of their routers which runs their network applications so you can manage the aps. This one specifically doesn't have POE.

Cloud gateway fiber has 1 Poe port but I think you'd have to either get a dedicated Poe switch or the unifi dream machine pro se to get more then one Poe port.

Most of their system if pretty modulated instead of all in one.

Microcenter's open box items are further discounted below the sale prices and can be used for some real steals. If it's been sitting there for a while it gets a further markdown.

i currently have an eero and notice that sometimes i need to refresh a browser or my wireless apple tvs don't connect on the first try. i use to run a unifi ap with the controller running on a rasp pi but didn't enjoy dealing with it. is this a good upgrade along with a unifi ap? i have 500/500 internet.

If this was around when I was searching around for a non-wireless router (ended up doing my own router via a minisforum MS-01 + proxmox + pfsense), I would've gotten one.

It's really hard to find a good wired router option if you're designing an AP based solution. My personal favorite is the Cloud Gateway Fiber [ui.com] though.

What else do you have on that minisforum box? I want to upgrade my DIY pfsense box to something more powerful.

I just set up a Cloud Gateway Ultra and a U7 Pro XGS access point on our home network last month and would highly recommend both of them.

FYI, the Cloud Gateway Ultra is rated 4.8/5 stars on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Ubiquiti-C...B0CWLKD9RP

I just successfully mixed one of these with my existing Eero 6 access points. The UI is SO much better. I do a lot of reserved IPs and port forwarding, etc. and it was worth the money.

Unifi OS server just came out. So you can run your own Unifi cloud off of any server. But it's still in beta. Network only for now. But they might add camera support in the future. https://blog.ui.com/article/intro...-os-server

FYI, Uibiquiti products seem to have a 1 year warranty when bought from authorized sellers vs 2 years when bought from ui.com.

Fun story. Used to work there years ago. We would get first dibs. If it was under $100, it was marked down 50%. If it was over $100, it was 20%. There were times they needed to get rid of items fast and would just mark everything 50-80% for employees. One of my better take homes was a couple high end motherboards with bent pins that I fixed. Our manager practically gave them away to me. It was a fun time. I hope the current employees are having as much fun as I did back then.
