Edit: I don't think I'm using a ryobi drive way cleaner attachment I'd imagine this works as well.

At 12-inches with the 0-degree tip, a 2500psi pressure washer may push 50psi. A 1700psi pressure washer may be 2/3 that, but it's likely much closer. Switch to an equivalent 15-degree tip on both and they will be about the same; the increased orifice size makes the pump gpm the limitation. A "1200psi" 2.0gpm 120V pressure washer would perform far better.
Few electric 120V pressure washers even come close to their pump's rating at the tip - 1000-1200psi at the tip is normal. You know how when you pull the wand trigger, you get a burst of water, then it smooths out (especially on more powerful/gas units)? That's closer to the higher pressure of the pump's peak rating, but it can't maintain that pressure. Once the spray gets larger than the tiny hole in the tip, it continues to drop off in pressure exponentially.
