Okay folks. I'm starting a homelab build so needed quite a few of these so drove to several walmarts within 15 miles from me and here's some useful information:

For checking if a store has it in stock:

- Use the walmart app as it will allow you to "Check availability nearby" - the website shows this sometimes but most often it does not but the app shows it consistently

- If "Check availability nearby" shows that it's available at a store, there's at least one there. I bought several from different walmarts and every single time they were available when I walked into the store and by the time I checked out and got back to my car, they were shown as no longer available.

Pricing

- This is the YMMV part. One store had it for $88. Another store had two for $83. Another store had one for $82. Then finally the last store I went to had four for $73 each.

- I think the ones with $8x pricing were all walmart superstores and the one that had it for $73 was just a regular walmart. Could just have been a coincidence.

- Definitely make sure the ones you are getting at is priced as it is listed in the glass case. At one store, some of the "2TB" drives were actually 850s stacked behind the 770s and those will ring up at 159.

- Each store had 1TB drives marked on clearance as well for $5x, didn't look that closely at pricing of those.

Hope that helps someone.

Blue screens because of HMB since it has no DRAM. Windows sets it high as 200MB instead of drives 64MB. if don't update firmware once upgrade to 24H2.

Download Sandisk dashboard (WD Dashboard was discontinued in january) and you can update the firmware to 731130WD or higher on 2TB model

Did the digital tag show $72, does your brickseek show $72 or something different ? My two stores show $149 and $119. Just trying to see if your brickseek price is accurate with what you paid before I venture out

Would this saturate - thunderbolt 4 port on a Mac Studio in an external case like what OWC offers? I know it's not the fastest gen 4, but faster than my port?
