They are getting too high on prices. They also removed the AA option on this one so I'll stick with deals on the Pro 2.

Not bad for a controller that just came out. The purple color is excluded

I don't see 8bitdo doing well in this price range. They're good but not that good... Wouldn't take one over a standard Xbox or ps5 controller

They've really upped their game and are using higher end parts than first parties, but there are still some durability concerns on many models. I'm more of a Gamesir fan as they've held up well for me and fit my hand better.

curious when this happened, as the pro 2 I purchased earlier this year is not noticably improved from the sn30 pro I bought in 2018 or so. both have sticks that are not sensitive enough for FPS games and input delay even with updated firmware.

I pre-ordered the purple one. I have to say it is the most disappointing. 8bitdo controller I've ever used. We own eight or nine of them total in the house ranging from the basic wired ones to the OG version of this to the latest ultimate twos with TMR sticks and this one is just an abject failure in feel, responsiveness and connectivity. The thing just straight up, disconnects all the time. Even after updating the dongle and the controller to the latest firmware

Wow that's good to know. I really like my 8bitdo pro 2 which I've had for 4 years now. Never had much of an issue with it except occasional disconnects when low on battery. Might hold off for some software or hardware updates.

My 8bitdo Bluetooth controllers have gotten sluggish just with my Switch - I had at one point connected Bluetooth audio but not anymore - maybe Nintendo update caused trouble?

Cool to see it got a charging stand, but the price is too high. I haven't paid over $60 for any of my 8bitdo controllers. Even the Ultimate 2 Bluetooth was less than this.

Yeah, I am experiencing the same issue with the SN30 Pro's hall effect sticks being not sensitive enough for FPS and TPS games. They seem fine when I run the gamepad tester, but in-game, it just feels harder to aim than with the original XBox S controller. That said, I still use the 8BitDo over the XBox S because the shape/size fits my hands better.

I have Bluetooth disconnects on this controller's sibling (SN30 Pro). I've noticed a few things: one, the range is very short, about 8 to 10 feet, and also, if there are any drinks or metal objects like a soda can in between the controller and the Bluetooth receiver, disconnects become frequent. And of course 2.4GHz Wifi interferes with Bluetooth, but that's true for most Bluetooth devices, not just these controllers.
My Microsoft XBox S controller was always far better at Bluetooth than the 8BitDo under the same conditions (soda can in the way, same 2.4GHz Wifi interference).

I have had really good experience with hori controllers, particularly the hori SL pad for PC. It was $12 on woot and it just works well, has the PlayStation dpad placement, and has a better dpad than the PS4 controller. Only thing it lacks is analog triggers.

Note that the D-pad on this model and the SN30 Pro is prone to the false diagonal/false opposite problem. I have had to open up my SN30 Pro dozens of times to place and adjust the position of kaptan tape to prevent the false diagonals/opposites. Eventually I perfected the placement of the tape, but opening this up every time is super-tedious.
(False opposites happen when you press a direction, say, Down, and when you let go, it pops up and rocks all the way to the opposite side, triggering an unintended Up signal--very annoying for games like Tetris where you press Right, and then it issues a false Left.)
It depends heavily on what types of games you play. If you play Tetris or Contra or HellDivers 1, you will notice the false diagonals immediately. Other games are far more forgiving to the point where you might not even notice.

Thanks! I will check the hori SL out--that price is fantastic (I paid $50 for my 8BitDo). I liked the D-pad on the PS3 and PS4 controllers.

At this price point, why not just spend a bit more and get a pro 2 controller from Nintendo?
