Please note that this laptop uses the MediaTek MT9725 WiFi card and is prone to issues connecting to the 5Ghz band. At least, that's been my experience so far. Connectivity is highly dependent on laptop location relative to router/mesh nodes. An older Lenovo Legion (probably about 5 years old which this new laptop is replacing) with an Intel WiFi card has no issues connecting at the same location of this new laptop.

A viable workaround is to use a USB WiFi adapter (additional $) which will not void the warranty OR replace the MediaTek WiFi card with an Intel WiFi card which will require opening laptop and likely void warranty. So, buyer beware.

Is the WiFi card soldered on? If not, those cards are cheap and really easy to replace. I don't know about the Legion series but this was the case with all the Thinkpads I've had.

The WiFi card isn't soldered on, I'm aware it can be easily replaced. The point is that opening the laptop will likely void the warranty and not everyone is comfortable with that. Aside from the WiFi card, the rest of the laptop is solid. So, it's really more of making potential buyers aware of what to expect with this laptop.

I'm actually thinking of returning this one and getting a different unit to see if it's just a faulty WiFi card. If the new unit behaves similarly, then I can decide whether or not to keep it long term.

Why the TDs? Seems not bad considering the 1TB drive and 32GB RAM. Is it because of Intel CPU, RTX 5060, price?
