Doesn't the TCL QM7 from Best Buy at $599 seem like a better deal in this size?

That's aQ7, not QM7, but yes, the Q7 is likely better than this TV

A QM7 from the last couple years, yes, would be a better set....but...you linked to a 2023 Q7. Not only is finding one prob going to be pretty rare at this point, it is NOT the same as a QM7. At this price vs that Q7 if one is available in your area...I would get this Roku pro. The pro line of Roku TV's are pretty good in terms of picture and all, but have some short comings vs true top tier sets like the lower refresh screens and all, and are pretty overpriced normally because of those shortcomings. If you just want a cheap set with pretty good picture quality to just watch content, this is a pretty good buy. if you are after high refresh vrr and those sort of bells and whistles, then you'll want to look elsewhere for sure even if it means sacrificing some picture quality. I'd be eyeing something like a TCL QM6K if you want pretty good for cheap. I'm sure you'll find 75 inches in this price neighborhood at some point if they aren't hitting that already.

According to chat GPT

What You'll Notice in Actual Use
• HDR & dark scenes: Roku's mini-LED delivers better contrast with less haloing than TCL. Highlights and blacks pop more naturally.
• PC-specific use: Roku stays sharper and more predictable switching between desktop (4:4:4 text) and gaming modes.
• High-refresh PC gaming: TCL enables 144 Hz modes for competitive play on PC, offering smoother motion beyond 120 Hz.
• Everyday console use: Both handle PS5 at 4K@120 comfortably. Differences in lag and motion are subtle unless you're very sensitive.
• Image clarity: TCL's upscaling and processing often yield sharper textures from lower-res content; Roku can look softer unless manually tuned.
• Seating layout: TCL exhibits more washout if viewed off-center; Roku is slightly more forgiving but still limited by panel type
In looking at rtings.com comparison
It looks like they trade blows...and the TCL is $200 less and Best Buy has it with free shipping

Google TV is garbage - Roku has gone downhill but by far still the best experience.

The rtings .com comparison places them pretty much trading blows with no clear winner
$200 less and free shipping
Sounds like a pretty good reason to get the TCL
https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/c...8205/37972

Neither are going to knock anything out of the park
But for the lower/mid range category that these two play itn..at its price the TCL seems like a better deal

The photo is wrong. The Best Buy link is for a $799 75" Pro.

I bought this same set for $799 a few months ago. It is beautiful. I just noticed a dark area about the size of my fist near the center and am going to have to swap it out, however.

The same TV is $200 less if you buy from Amazon and pay with Prime Visa (25% Cash Back Rewards). I literally just bought one and posted the deal here:

As much as I don't like that the TCL is Chinese made. I'm thinking I'd go with the TCL anyway.

Didn't see it in any of the comments but this Roku TV also gets 25% back when using a Prime Visa. So effectively $600. I bought this during Prime Day with the same offer. Really nice TV and well worth $600.

edit...I guess there was another comment on it that I missed.
