Purchased two of these. Neither would activate. Download links would also not work. Thankfully, the seller was completely willing to issue a full refund immediately.

I would argue the only reason you would want to upgrade is if they no longer provide security updates. I mean for most people you can use a 10 year old version just fine.

For the average user, there's usually no real need to upgrade — older versions still work just fine for most everyday tasks, i think
