I picked up two Sonos Era 100s for about $250 out the door a few months ago from Sonos. Technically certified refurbished, but I'm certain they are new. If I use that as a best case price, the Arc is then $550. Solid deal all around.

Best Buy had the soundbar for 499 the other day. It's the normal ARC, not the ultra

Little new to the Soundbar scene. Just trying to get something for my living room. Sonos seem like a top end bar. I know bose is no slouch. I have a Vizio m512a-h6 that bought because it was the best budget bar under $500. But I need another one. Is Sonos that much better?

I've had an Arc and two 100s setup for the past few years and it has been very good. Seems like a good deal at this price.I also picked up the Samsung Q990D this year and will say it is fantastic. Noticeably better than my Sonos setup. I believe it's on sale for $700 right now.Can't go wrong with either, but I think I prefer the Samsung.

Tried the q990 this week and returning it. Sound feels colored and the sub is, well a soundbar sounding sub. I liked it overall, just not for me at the cost even at $700. I'll delay my dream of mounting the tv and bar on the wall longer and stick with my AVR and smaller Paradigm SE speakers. Did do away with my dedicated theater gear though so starting to compromise.

Samsung's Q990D 11.1.4 system is better than both this and the Arc Ultra, and frequently goes on sale for $100 less than this. I think it's actually still on sale for $700. Though, that deal is usually through their partner store. Sometimes you can get it through Woot.

Sounds better for gamers than the ARC Ultra since you can do HDMI pass through - should reduce lag.

Hard disagree. Samsung upscaling of audio to surround is poor and the soundbar is made of low quality tinny drivers….very hollow without presence. Samsung Sub is also weak and cant be upgraded…especially on music. Bought one after all the praise and its definitely mid level sound at best….returned in leas than a week.….
Sonos mich cleaner, full sound and better upscaling surround. …but you will need the sub.

people all will have their own opinions of superior brand/product. personally, I own the regular Arc with sub mini, and pair of Era 300s for surrounds. I love the setup, less wire, easy to tune, and less clutter overall. Dolby Atmos sounds great as does regular surround. if I didn't already have all I need, I'd jump on this deal.
