I wouldn't. It's an awkward shape for sitting. Some may be fine but some may hate it.

I love Schecter. Their $600+ tier guitars, like the C-1, have some great pickups and a smooth neck that's easy to slide around on. They're definitely good quality guitars. A couple C-1s are on sale for $650 from Guitar Center and Musician's Friend (owned by Guitar Center). I have a Synyster Gates Custom Schecter, but that thing is $1,500. A friend has a C-1 and I love playing it when I hang out with him.

This is a very specific guitar. A unique shape inspired by EVH's Charvel, an ebony fretboard, no Floyd Rose, a single pickup, a gigbag, and a killswitch. It checks a strange combo of boxes IMO and is decent priced here for a MiM guitar, but there a much better options for a beginner/intermediate guitar in that range. As mentioned, Schecter C1 platinum when on sale (regularly) at guitar center is a great option and lot of bang for your buck.

I'm assuming these guitars aren't "signed".

You can also check Sire Larry Carlton S7, Sweetwater has it for $600-660. Highly rated HSS strat-style guitar. Has a vibrato bridge, which may not be ideal for a beginner though.
